The Purpose of TeamFlix
TeamFlix.com features video sharing, social networking, and a nice clean design. The purpose of TeamFlix.com, however, is to promote high school sports. Every aspect of the site was designed to meet the needs of students who enjoy social networking, families who can watch their favorite athlete’s video highlights, and schools that hope to feature their teams in the public spotlight.
The Design of TeamFlix
Our goals in designing TeamFlix.com were quite simple…
- Create a site that is clean and attractive to sports fans
- Make it easy to navigate
- Insure compatibility with almost all known browsers
- Develop the site in the framework of a secure application
- Offer highly customizable features
Some of our greatest concerns were with scalability and security. We wanted to create a site that could not be abused. We’ve even sacrificed some of our flexibility to make sure that all content can be moderated. This is one of the aspects of TeamFlix.com that sets it apart from other social networking applications. Human beings filter content. All user-provided video highlights, photos, and other content is moderated by site administrators. There is also a user flagging system so that any offensive comments can be removed, along with the users that posted them in many cases.
